The Persian Carpet Studio is one of the largest showrooms dedicated to antique and contemporary Oriental rugs and carpets in the UK, and our on-site repair and restoration workshop is almost certainly the most extensive. 

Our home is an 18th century former coaching inn (with original oak beams!) in Long Melford.  This picture-postcard Suffolk village is at the heart of East Anglia’s antiques trade and is an easy journey from Harwich, London or any of the main UK airports, especially Stansted.

We were established in 1990 by our proprietor, Sara Barber, who worked with textiles and interior design before serving an apprenticeship with Majid Amini, the well-known expert on Oriental rugs and carpets. 

Over the past decade, we have built a strong team of specialists in the valuation, buying, selling and restoration of these masterpieces, and gained an excellent reputation.

Our extensive stock ranges from inexpensive small furnishing items to Oriental carpets in excess of 20 feet x 15 feet, and rare antiques.  We offer a wide variety of Persian, Caucasian, Anatolian and Central Asian tribal and village rugs, bags & kilims. If we do not have what you are looking for, we will search the marketplace for it.
